Dr. Shelby Scanlin is a former NCAA Division I lacrosse player who won a national championship in her freshman year at the University of Maryland. She completed her collegiate lacrosse career at Elon University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Dr. Scanlin then went on to receive her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2022 from the NC State College of Veterinary Medicine.
After veterinary school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston before joining Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in July 2023 to pursue her Neurology and Neurosurgery Residency.
Outside of work, Dr. Scanlin enjoys exploring Houston, running, and spending time with her pets, including her dog Byrde and two cats, Cash and Josey.
