Dr. Rebecca S. Salazar is a board-certified specialist in Veterinary Anesthesia and Analgesia. She earned her veterinary degree and completed her residency at Texas A&M University. Before joining Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, Dr. Salazar served as an assistant professor at the Center for Veterinary Health Sciences at Oklahoma State University.
Dr. Salazar takes great pride in teaching current anesthesia protocols, a facet of her job she finds particularly rewarding. Her clinical interests focus on innovative approaches to analgesia, including peripheral nerve blocks, epidural catheters, and personalized pain management plans for surgical, oncologic, trauma, and internal medicine patients. Furthermore, she enjoys complex cardiovascular and pulmonary anesthetic cases.
An avid outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Salazar enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, as well as traveling. She cherishes time spent with her husband, Jose, their son, Rex, and their two dogs: Freddy, a Doodle mix, and Poncho, a standard poodle.
