Dr. Hernandez, originally from Puerto Rico, brings a rich academic background and extensive experience to Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Cellular Molecular Biology from the University of Puerto Rico before pursuing her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree, which she achieved in 2017 from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Following veterinary school, Dr. Hernandez completed a rotating internship at VCA Aurora Animal Hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in specialty care. She further honed her skills during an Internal Medicine internship at Affiliated Veterinary Specialists in Maitland, Florida. Prior to joining GCVS, Dr. Hernandez broadened her expertise as a locum tenens veterinarian at a specialty hospital in Florida, gaining invaluable experience across diverse clinical settings.
Dr. Hernandez is dedicated to providing exceptional care and compassion to her patients and their families, making her a vital member of the GCVS team.
