Dr. Jessica Gomez brings her wealth of experience, dedication, and love of animals to Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists, ensuring that her patients receive the highest standard of care in critical times of need. Dr. Gomez earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Central Missouri before pursuing her doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri – Columbia in 2021.
During the challenging times of the pandemic, Dr. Gomez found her calling in the fast-paced environment of emergency medicine. While still in veterinary school, she immersed herself in the Emergency and Critical Care Department as an assistant, discovering a profound connection with the adrenaline and challenges of emergency veterinary care. Her commitment to excellence led her to undertake ER mentorships at Mission Veterinary Emergency and Specialty and Overland Park Veterinary Emergency and Specialty.
Dr. Gomez relocated to Houston from Columbia, MO, with her partner Caleb and their lively herd of animals: a standard poodle named Ben, a great dane named Steve, and two tripod cats, Gadget and Tuna. Beyond her passion for veterinary medicine, Dr. Gomez enjoys delving into books, solving puzzles, staying active, exploring her love for horseback riding, and embarking on adventures through travel.
