Dr. Carley Giovanella earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tufts University in 1999. Following an internship at the University of Georgia, she completed her residency in neurology and neurosurgery at the University of Wisconsin and the Animal Health Trust in Newmarket, England. Joining The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003 as an assistant professor in her field, she became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine – Specialty of Neurology in 2004. Dr. Giovanella joined Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists in 2005 and has led our Neurology Department, also serving on the GCVS advisory board.
Despite not being a Texas native, she and her family have wholeheartedly embraced the state as their home. Beyond her professional commitments, she finds joy in traveling and scuba diving with her scuba-certified family. At home, she cares for a diverse mix of pets, showcasing her passion for animal care.
