Lauren Harper, DVM

Dr. Lauren Harper is originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia, where she grew up surrounded by pets and wildlife. She completed undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, where she discovered her passion for veterinary medicine. In 2017, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Veterinary Medicine and completed veterinary school at St. Matthew’s University in the Cayman Islands. Dr. Harper graduated with her DVM in 2021 after completing a year of clinical rotations at the University of Georgia. Immediately after vet school, Dr. Harper pursued a rigorous small animal rotating internship at Crown Veterinary Specialists in Lebanon, NJ. After completing her internship, Dr. Harper tried her hand at general practice, working as an associate veterinarian at VCA Triangle Tower Animal Hospital. She enjoyed connecting more with clients, but soon missed the fast pace and the element of the unknown that comes with emergency medicine. Dr. Harper moved to Houston and started at GCVS in 2023 as an emergency veterinarian. In her spare time, Dr. Harper enjoys relaxing with her canine companions: Benny, a 6-year-old Pitbull mix from Grand Cayman; Blue, a 5-year-old Pitbull mix from Georgia; and Barbara, a 1-year-old bully adopted from GCVS!
