Dr. Shelby Scanlin played four years of NCAA women’s DI lacrosse and won a national championship her freshman year at the University of Maryland. She finished her collegiate lacrosse career at Elon University where she also received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology, followed by her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2022 from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine. Following vet school, she completed a small animal rotating internship at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston and then began her Neurology & Neurosurgery Residency at GCVS in July 2023. Outside of work, Dr. Scanlin enjoys exploring Houston, running, and spending quality time with her pets. She has a dog named Byrde and two cats named Cash and Josey.
