Dr. Philip Allen earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Kansas State University. He then completed a rotating internship in medicine and surgery at Tufts University before pursuing a three-year surgical residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Allen became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2019. Prior to joining Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists (GCVS) in the same year, he worked as a surgeon at a specialty hospital in Kansas City.
Dr. Allen’s surgical expertise encompasses minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopy, thoracoscopy, and fracture repair. He also specializes in joint replacement therapy and interventional radiology procedures.
